For its growth plan to be successfully and to work closely with the CEO as well as the management team to progress existing opportunities and identify new ones we are looking for a

Head of Business Development (m/f)


  • Assessing existing opportunities in terms of revenue potential and collaborating with the Management Team to ensure buy-in and alignment
  • Developing detailed short and long-term business development growth plans covering opportunities and existing market, new product and market opportunities
  • Creating detailed market/sector relevant entry strategies in collaboration with Product Management and working closely with other areas of the Group to leverage assets to enhance the companies’ proposition to merchants
  • Working alongside the CEO engaging, as well as sourcing partnerships to enhance the proposition and capabilities
  • Manage execution risks relating to strategic initiatives and new business opportunities
  • Ensure buy-in and cooperation across functions so roll-out an implementation are effective and continue to be fit for purpose
  • Offer thought leadership to the business and engage with external bodies to set industry leading credit risk policies


  • Academic degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent and minimum 7 years of experience in a senior business development, sales or strategic planning role within the financial services sector
  • Significant experience in a partnership environment, in designing and implementing new business initiatives and in developing or maintaining industry developments to identify key trends and opportunities
  • Strong people management skills, confident style but approachable and inspiring
  • Working in a matrix structure and being able to collaborate with teams, convince indirect reports to deliver against timelines
  • Determined and self-motivated with strong analytical skills that demonstrate a maturity of judgement
  • Process and detail oriented with constant desire to improve the status quo, tenacity and willingness to implement any new ideas
  • Hands-on mentality, international mindset, business fluent in German and English
